Moose City:

OH MOOSE JAW

Vocal: The Jaw
Lyrics: Roy
Release Date: 2026
Audience: For All Ages

Album Description:
I’ve always been drawn to the history of the places I settle in, and Moose Jaw’s story has deeply moved me. This album is my humble attempt to reflect that—sharing echoes of the ‘Notorious City’, overlooked pieces of history, and quiet moments under its prairie sky.

These lyrics can’t capture the full depth of this city’s past, just like a conversation between friends.

Prairie Thunder

Limitless horizon
the gate of Tornado Alley
The sky holds its breath
ink purple clouds begin to churn

Southeast Moose Jaw
a hidden mecca for storm chasers worldwide
This is Saskatchewan Highway 39 Corridor
The sky turns cyclonic green shattering the purple wall
The chasers race the storm, tires scream
Engines roar, and shutters burn
The world holds its breath, hanging on every heartbeat in the gale

Prairie Thunder
A Beast riding the storm
Who stands in the storm
Oh! Thunderbirds pierce the thunderhead
Packs of Wild Hearts charge into the storm

Oh, back in 1974, the sky above Wakamow came crashing down
That night of flood and dread
streets drowned and ancient timber cracked
The city rose, ten thousand souls as one Hand in hand
They fought the dark the mud and the freezing shock
They reclaimed Moose Jaw
from the torrent defiant against the night

Prairie Thunder
A Beast riding the storm
Who stands in the storm
Oh! Thunderbirds pierce the thunderhead
Legions of brave souls charging into the storm

On this new Main Street, past the “Moose on a Leash”
Echoes of Red River Carts, still rolling toward the North…
Echoes of a phantom stampede and the rifle crack of history
The hammer of thunder rips open a rift in time…
And the echoes of history surge straight through my chest

Prairie Thunder
A Beast riding the storm
Who stands in the storm
Oh! Thunderbirds pierce the thunderhead
Spirits of the prairie charge into the storm

Across the open prairie
As the winds rise from every horizon
Watch those ink black clouds swirling and churning
Prairie Thunder is brewing once again

Oh The Thunderbird pierces the thunderhead
In the heart of the storm, where the lightning cracks
A thousand wild hearts, still running against the Thunder
Running against the storm again…
